Overview.

Brioche Pasquier partnered with eEnergy to install a solar carport at its Milton Keynes site, cutting carbon, reducing energy costs, and showcasing sustainability, all without disrupting operations.

Scope of works.

eEnergy delivered a full turnkey solar carport, integrating smart design, complex civils, and advanced tech, on a live commercial site.

Key delivery elements:

  • System size:74 kWp (1,158 panels)
  • Civils and structure: Soft/hard digs, low-vibration helical piles, Bluetop gullwing canopy
  • Technology: JA Solar 505–530W bifacial modules; Solis inverters
  • Monitoring: Battery-ready metering with GPRS connectivity
  • Compliance: DNO G99 approval, structural/topography surveys, ground/utility scans, glint & glare assessment, and planning approvals

The system was engineered for minimal shading, maximum yield, and a clean integration with the site architecture.

Design led approach.

eEnergy’s precision-engineered design balanced performance and functionality, enabling high yield without compromising car park use.

Design scope included:

DNO and G99 submission; structural, topographical, and ground surveys; utility scan; glint & glare analysis; planning for canopy and substation; battery-ready monitoring with full metering; and an optimised layout to minimise shading and maintain visual appeal.

Live environment delivery.

The build was split into two phases to retain uninterrupted car park use:

  • Phase 1: Maintained 60+ spaces and 3 EV chargers
  • Phase 2: Added access to 55+ more spaces; kept rear building access open
  • Re-routed traffic, clear signage, and comms maintained safe movement across site

Risk management and transparent delivery.

Early-stage ground and utility scans de-risked installation. RAMS and traffic plans were tailored to the live site, with fenced, segregated zones ensuring H&S compliance. Weekly progress reports, milestone tracking, and live monitoring supported client visibility and ESG reporting—delivering zero incidents and no disruption throughout.

Measured impact.

  • Annual generation: 458,648 kWh
  • Self-consumption: 6%
  • Export to grid: 2.4%
  • CO savings: 5 tCO₂e/year
  • LCOE: £0.19/kWh
  • Designed for future battery and EV integration

With high energy usage during daytime hours and on-site EV infrastructure, the system maximises return while enhancing energy resilience.

Conclusion.

This project demonstrates eEnergy’s expertise in delivering technically advanced, low-disruption energy infrastructure in live commercial settings. Through smart phasing, robust engineering, and proactive communication, we provided a high-performance solar carport aligned to the client’s operational and sustainability goals.
