Redefining collaboration, speed and accuracy for LED retrofit projects
eEnergy, the leading digital energy services provider, has today launched Version 2 of its proprietary Lighting Survey App — a cloud-based, fully connected platform that transforms how energy efficiency surveys and lighting designs are delivered, giving customers unrivalled speed, confidence, and accuracy.
Developed in-house, the App has been led by eEnergy’s Technical Solutions Director, Lawrence Salisbury, drawing on his 23 years of experience in lighting design, building services, and sustainable solutions. The result is a powerful tool that allows eEnergy to survey any type of estate — from office buildings and manufacturing plants to schools, sports halls, swimming pools, and NHS hospitals — regardless of size, complexity or environment, with full access to eEnergy’s extensive LED supply chain.
From analogue to fully connected
The original App (Version 1) already moved eEnergy beyond traditional paper-based surveys. But survey files still needed to be saved, uploaded, and manually reviewed by the lighting design team before quotes could be built. Version 2 eliminates these handoffs entirely.
Now, surveyors, designers, and project teams collaborate live within a connected cloud-based solution. As surveys are being carried out on-site, the data instantly syncs with design teams back at HQ, allowing lighting designers to verify data, resolve anomalies, select the most appropriate solutions, and build fully validated investment-grade quotes — while the surveyor is still on-site.
This shift has driven:
- 100% uplift in surveying capacity: Lighting designers can now survey and model proposals simultaneously, with the App handling much of the technical workload — freeing up more time to engage with the customer and fine-tune the solution.
- Real-time design validation: Lighting designs are reviewed, adjusted, and validated live during the survey, eliminating post-survey delays and ensuring data accuracy.
- Instant investment-grade proposals: Fully costed proposals — including funding, energy savings, and carbon reduction forecasts — are generated immediately upon survey completion.
- Direct supply chain integration: The App connects directly to eEnergy’s full LED catalogue, enabling rapid specification and procurement with guaranteed technical fit.
- Built-in commercial optimisation: Quotations are constructed within the App environment, enabling real-time balancing of cost and efficiency — ensuring customers receive the best value, while eEnergy maintains tight commercial control.
Transformational for eEnergy and the Industry
Harvey Sinclair, CEO of eEnergy, commented:
“Version 2 of our Lighting Survey App is a genuine breakthrough — for our business, for our customers, and for the wider energy efficiency industry. It removes the inefficiencies that have plagued lighting surveys for years, enabling faster customer decisions, higher design accuracy, and complete transparency. This is how Net Zero solutions should be delivered — quickly, confidently, and with full commercial clarity.”
For Lawrence Salisbury, who has led both versions of the App’s development, this marks a major evolution:
“When we launched the original App, we already moved the dial significantly. But we knew we could go further. Version 2.0 brings multiple teams together into one live environment — surveyors, designers, and project managers working collaboratively in real time. It’s removed unnecessary steps, cut out manual errors, and gives both our team and our customers total confidence in the solutions we’re proposing. It’s a true end-to-end platform that allows us to serve more customers, more accurately, at greater speed.”
