About Downsend School
Downsend School, a part of the Cognita Group, was looking at ways to reduce energy consumption and ensure they had an environment that was as sustainable as possible.
The challenge
The school was spending £6,748 per year on lighting costs, which could be significantly reduced with the installation of energy-efficient LED lighting.
The solution
Our team visited the school and carried out a comprehensive survey. Our survey highlighted that replacing all older lighting could improve the learning environment and make savings of £2,073 in the first year alone. The environmental benefits mean that carbon emissions will also be reduced by 6.4 TCO2 each year – the equivalent of 306 trees.
